Study on High Performance Liquid Chromatography Method for Determination of Multiple Additives in Food

Abstract: Objective: To establish a high performance liquid chromatography method for the detection of preservatives,sweeteners and colorants in various food substrates based on the urgent need offood safety monitoring. Method: Preservatives were separated by C18 column combined with methanol-water system, sweeteners were separated by TSKgel Amide-80 column combined with acetonitrile-water system,and quantitative analysis was performed by UV detector. Result: The linear relationship between the target compounds was good in the range of 0.1mg?L-1 to 10.0mg.L-1 ,the correlation coefficient was greater than 0.999,and the limit of detection was 0.005mg?kg-1 to 0.015mg?kg-1 ,and limit of quantitation was 0.015mg.kg-1 to 0.045mg.kg-1 . Three representative matrices including carbonated beverage, preserved fruit and sausage were selected for validation.The recoveries were 84.5% to 95.6% . Conclusion: The method can detect 6 common food additives at the same time, and has good accuracy and precision,which can meet the daily monitoring needs offood safety,and can provide reliable technical support for the supervision department.
