AbstractThe proposalof "21st-Century Core Competencies for Chinese Students'Development" has pointed out the directionforthe teaching of varioussubjects inhigh schoolin terms of training objectives.Amongthe 18 key words in the core competency system,'criticalquestioning'does not indicate the importanceofcultivating critical thinking in high school.The articlefirst analyzes the connotation and characteristics of critical thinking,then elaborates on its theoretical support,and finally proposesspecific strategies forcultivating students'criticalthinking inhistory eaching, aiming to help students form a sound critical thinking system in history learning.
