The Impact of Impulsivity on Subjective Well-being of College Freshman: A Chain Mediation Model

AbstractObjective:To explore the relationship and underlying mechanisms between impulsivity and subjective well-being among freshmen.Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 354 first-year college students.Result: ① Impulsiveness is significantly negatively correlated with subjective well-being; ② Emotional regulation difficulties play a significant mediating role between impulsivity and subjective well-being; ③ The chain mediation effect between impulsivity and subjectivewell-eingis significant for emotionalregulation diffculties and interpersonalrelationship dificulties. Conclusion: Impulsiveness not onlyhas a direct efect on subjective well-being,but can also playarole in subjective well-being through emotional regulation difficulties and interpersonal relationship troubles.
