Abstract： Since the reform and opening up， especially the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China， China's graduate education has developed rapidly and has become a significant country in graduate education globally. Course learning is an important feature of China's degree and graduate education system and a necessary link to ensure the quality of graduate education. Therefore， it is urgent to strengthen the construction of excellent graduate courses. Based on summarizing and analyzing the connotation and requirements of the Ministry of Education for excellent undergraduate courses， this paper proposes the construction concept， graduate ability goals， and five first-class construction standards for the construction of excellent graduate courses. Combined with the provincial excellent course construction process of "Materials Modern Research Methods"， corresponding solutions are proposed from the perspectives of determining course objectives， condensing teaching content， solving challenging problems， optimizing teaching methods， teaching team and textbook construction ideas， and reforming assessment mechanisms， hoping to play a particular leading and promoting role in the construction of excellent graduate courses.
