【Abstract】Aiming at the problem that rear-end colisions are prone to occur when vehicles are following at low speeds，thispaperdesignsasystem integrating ranging alarmand auxiliary braking functionsbasedon theAT89C51 single-chip microcomputer.Bydeplyanalyzing theminimumsafe time modelofthevehicle during dynamic driving，the systemusesultrasonicdistancesensorsandvehicle speed sensors tocolectdatainreal time，combinedwith the environmentaltemperaturecompensationalgorithm，toaccuratelycalculatethevehicledistanceandtheminimumsafe time.When themeasuredvehicle speedand thedistance betweenvehicles fail tomeet theminimumsafety time requirements，thesystemwillimmediately triggeranaudibleandvisualalarm.Intheeventthat thedriverfailsto respond in time，the auxiliary braking program will be automatically initiated.
