[Abstract]ObjectiveTo explore theapplicationand efectiveness of the SNAPPS teaching method(summarize-narrow-analyze-probe-plan-select)combined withtheGibbs’reflectivecycleinclinicaleducationoforal medicine.MethodsSixtyundergraduatestudentsonclinicalobservershipatthedepartmentof stomatologywererandomized into experimentalgroup andcontrol group Φn=30 per group).The experimental group received teaching based on SNAPPS combined with the Gibbs’reflective cycle, whilethecontrolgroupreceivedtraditionalinstruction.Attheendoftheobservership,studentswereevaluatedthroughclassroom testsand questionairesurveysfortheoretical knowledge,caseanalysisabilityteachingquality(includingself-directedlearing, inquiryablity,ontentmastery,analyicalabilityndcliicalreasoning),andricaltinking(includinginquisitiveness,oi tivematurity,analyticalability,andself-confidence).ResultsTheexperimentalgroupscoredsignificantlyhigherthanthecontrol group in theoretical knowledge (t=6.147,P<0.01) ,case analysis (t=6.857,P<0.01) ,teaching quality (t=9.513-16.720 , P<0.01 ),and critical thinking (t=7.445-12.380,P<0.01) .ConclusionSNAPPS combined with the Gibbs’ reflective cycle caneffectivelyimprovestudents’theoreticalunderstanding,linicalreasoing,ndcriticalthinkingabilities,andenhanceoveall teaching quality,which holds value for promotion in clinical teaching of oral medicine.
