AbstractIn Chinese education, the importance of extracurricular reading for upper primary school students has become increasingly prominent. Based on the current educational background,this article focuses on the Chinese extracurricular reading of upper primary school students and deeply explores its significance for the cultivation of Chinese language proficiency,the development of thinking,and the shaping of emotions and values. At the same time, aiming at the existing problems in extracurricular reading guidance, strategies such as deeply integrating reading resources, multi-imensionally expanding reading thinking, innovating reading incentive mechanisms,and constructing a reading community ecosystem are proposed.The purpose is to improve the quality and effectiveness of Chinese extracurricular reading for upper primary school students and provide usefulreferences for Chinese teaching practice.
