Abstract:Taking Inner MongoliaAutonomousRegionasthestudyarea,fiveinterpolationmethods,namelythe Inverse DistanceWeighted(IDW),Spline,OrdinaryKriging(OK),LocalPolynomialInterpolation(LPI),andRadialBasisFunction(BF) methods,wereemployedtospatiallyinterpolaterainfalldatafrom89meteorologicalstationswithinthestudyareaandits suroundings.Subsequentlyacrosvalidationaproachwasadoptedtocomparethepredictionauracyofthefiveinterpolation methods,therebyselectingthemostsuitableinterpolationmethodforInerMongoliaAutonomousRegion.Theresearchrevealed thattheLocalPolynomialInterpolationexhbitedthehghestinterpolationaccuracyptiallyeflectingthespatiallcontiuous variationcharacteristicsofrainfallwithintheregion.Conversely,theOrdinaryKrigingmethoddemonstratedthelowest interpolationauracy,withsimulationresultstendingtoproducethe"Bul's-Eye"efet.Theresearchfindingscanprovide relevantguidanceforselectingrainfallinterpolationmodelsthatcapturethespatio-temporaldistributionofrainfallinIner Mongolia and offer insights for related studies.
