[Abstract] With thedevelopmentofartificial inteligence，physical education inhigher education institutions is facing chalenges andinnovativeopportunitiesof integratingartificialintellgence.This paper elaboratesonthechanges brought byartificial intellgencetohigher education，explores theinnovativepathsandresponsestrategiesofphysical education inhigher education institutions in theeraof artificial inteligence.It specificallyanalyzes the challenges brought by artificialinteligencetophysicaleducationinighereducationinstitutionsinaspectsof teachingobjectivesandontents， teaching methods and means，and the roleandqualityofteachers，etc. At the same time，it elborates the innovative applications ofartificial inteligence in physical education in higher education institutions，including the construction of intelligent teaching platforms，intelligent trainingand assessment，and the integrationofcuriculum ideological and political education in physical education with artificial intelligence.
