Abstract：Asa basicprincipleof environmental protectionlin China，publicparticipationis the highest priorityamong thenational policy planninginthe ecological protection work of the Yangtze River Basin. Participating inenvironmental protectionis awayfor citizens torealizeenvironmental rights，which also reflectsthelegitimacy of publicparticipation.Meanwhile，becauseof the systematicand integral natureof watershedecosystem，publicparticipation hasitown necessityand particularity.Nowadays，inthecontext of theGreat protectionof theYangtze River，publicparticipation intheenvironmental protectionof the basin still faces legal problems，such as clarifying the subjects of public participation，improving the mechanismof publicparticipation，andevaluatingtheeffectofpublicparticipation.Inconsequence，itis necessary to further illustrate the scopeof the subjects of public participation，ensure the adequacy of public participation，as well as establish an evaluation index systemofipublic participation.
