Construction of city sports events and nation identity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Abstract： From the perspective of collective memory theory，this study analyzes the reconstruction path of colective memory inLingnanculture，and the transformation processofnationalidentity，inorder toexplorehow to strengthen therelationship between collective memoryand national identityinLingnan culture of urban sports events in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.The study shows that the process of building colective memoryofLingnan culture inurban sports events willundergo temporal and spatial reconstruction，and the internal identityconsciousnescanbetransformedfrom"T"to"we"and"ethnicidentity"to"nationalidentity"intheprocess of cultural identity.These suggestions are proposed as follows： building a moderm urban sports event exchange platform to inherit and innovate Lingnan culture expresson; enriching cultural connotation through modernization of grassoots governance; leveraging events to reconstruct Lingnan culture collective memory; and also focusing on media supervision in events under government leadership to enhance national identity awareness of Lingnan culture.
