Effects of different root promoting agents on the growth and root clumping formation of watermelon seedlings

Abstract:Inorder to investigate the effectofrootpromoting agents ontheroting ofplug seedling,watermelon variety SP100 wasusedas the testmaterial.Diferenttypes andconcentrationsofroot-promoting agent were sprayed,and water spraying was usedas control.The efects offour root-promoting agents on the growth and root clumping formation of watermelonseedlings wereanalyzed,withtheaimofscreeningouttheroot-promotingagentand itsappropriateconcentrationbeneficial toroot clumping.Theresults showedthatfour root promoting agents,namelymineral source potassium fulvic acid,aminoacid water-soluble fertlizer,Bacilussubtilisandindolenaphthaleneaceticacid,hadagoodpromoting effect onthe growth of watermelon seedlings androts.They increased the plant height,stem thickness,leafSPAD value, anddryand flesh massofwatermelonseedlings,andaccelerated thespeedofrootclumping.According to thecomprehensiveanalysisofrelevantindexesof watermelonsedlings,theoptimalconcentrationsofthe fourkindsofrootpromoting agents were as follows: Mineral potassium fulvic acid of 1000mg?L-1 ,amino acid water-soluble fertilizer of 1000mg?L-1 Bacillus subtilis of 600mg?L-1 ,and indole naphthalene acetic acid of 80mg?L-1 .Through grey relational analysis, it can be known that among these four root-promoting agents,the one withthe best effectonthe growth of watermelon seedlingsand the clustering of roots is 600mg?L-1 Bacillus subtilis, followed by 1000mg?L-1 amino acid water-soluble fertilizer. In summary, 600mg?L-1 Bacillus subtilis has the best promoting effect on the growth of watermelon seedlings and the formation of root clumping.
