Design of AC Power Supply System for Trams

Abstract: [Purposes] As a vital component of urban green transportation,modern trams require highly reliable power supply systems to ensure operational safety. This study aims to address critical issues in conventional AC power supply systems,including three-phase imbalance under high-power single-phase AC loading and insufficient reliability in critical load power supply,thereby enhancing system stability.[Methods] Based on redundancy control principles,an innovative dual-power coordinated supply architecture integrating AC/AC and DC/AC converters is proposed.A smart switching system is designed,combining network and manual control modes for single-phase AC load power supply,incorporating key technologies such as power conversion logic,fault detection mechanisms,and time-delay protection.[Findings] Engineering applications demonstrate significant performance improvements: a 29% (20 reduction in auxiliary inverter failure rates,a 73% decrease in train delay incidents,and guaranteed continuity in critical load power supply,substantially enhancing overall system reliability.[Conclusions] The proposed redundant power supply scheme effctively addresses critical technical challnges in tram power systems, ofering an innovative approach for optimizing rail transit power supply architectures with significant practical application value.
