Abstract：InChapter44ofTheSholars，ScholarShiEratemptstochangehisexaminationfortunebyrelocatighisancestraltomb， reflectingtheprevalentgomancysuperstoninthQingDnasty.sychologicallexamiationcandidateseliedosuchsupstiosto escaperealityndsekself-consolationndslf-encouagement.SocialltombelocationdrivenbygeomancybeliefsvolatedtheConfucianvirteofflialpietyArtistiallWuJingitiallossomeoihrdacticpupeavodt tarybydelegatingthdidacticfunctiontothevirtuouscharactersChiHengshanandDuShaoqing.Consideringtheirdistictpersoalitis， they employ diferent didactic approaches：Chi demonstrates calm reasoning while Du delivers impassioned reproach.
