Abstract:ToexploretheecologicaladaptabilityandhorticulturalapplicationsofdiferentvariantsofLoropetalumchinnsevar. rubrum,thisstudycomparedthephenotypesoffowersandleaves,anatomicalstructureofleaves,pigmentcontent,andcloophl fluorescence parametersof'Zaohua1'(Z1),'Shixuan 3'(S3),and'Dahual'(D1).Theresultsaredescribedas follows.(l)The phenotypesofleavesandflowers variedamong thethreevariants.Specifically,S3adyellowishgreen young leaves,dark green mature leaves,andreamywhitefowers;Z1adpurplishredyoungleaves,brownish-redmatureleaves,androseredfowers;Dl hadthelargestfowersandleavespuplish-redyoungleaves,dark greenmatureleaves,ndlargerose-redfowers.(2)Thestoatal longitudinal diameter and stomatal area of the three variants followed the trend of D1>Z1>S3 ;thestomatal transverse diameter and stomatal circumference were in the descending order of D1>S3>Z1 ; the leaf thickness followed the order of D1>S3>Z1 .(3)The contentofchlorophyllinleavesdidnotvarysignificantlyamongthetreevariants,whileZandDadsignifcantlyhgherontent ofcarotenoidsandanthocyanins than S3.(4)Theoriginalfuorescence,maximumfluorescence,andvariablefluorescencewerethe highestinZ1,moderate inS3,andthelwestinD1.Whentheyarestable,Z1hadthehighestnon-photochemicalquenching,andD1 hadthehighestphotochemicalquenhing.Takentogether,Dshowcasessignificantseasonalchanges,goodomamentalvalue,nd stronglightprotetionabilityeingstableforsolitaryplantingatlandscapenodes;Zasothexcelentlighteergyuilatio capacityandstresesistance,ervingasacanddateforplantinginsunyenviroments;Swithweakligtprotetionabltdor photosynthetic performance should be cultivated in the environment without strong light.
