Design of an Integrated Automatic Asparagus Lettuce Harvester

Abstract: [Purposes] Currently,the harvesting of asparagus lettuce mainly relies on manual labor to complete processes such as cuting,leaf peling,and packing, which consumes a significant amount of workforce resources.Therefore,developing an automated and eficient harvesting equipment for asparagus lettuce has become impreative.[Methods] The research team has developed an integrated asparagus lettuce harvester,which mainly consists of a frame,an adaptive clamping mechanism,a harvesting and conveying device,a power device,and a leaf-stripping and rotary tillage device.The aim is to achieve highly efficient and automated asparagus letuce harvesting.The harvester uses an electric motor as the power source.Precise cutting of asparagus lettuce is achieved by the disc cuter mounted at the front of the frame.Through the cutting force of the disc cutter and the coordinated action of the adaptive clamping mechanism,the clamping and conveying of asparagus lettuce with varying diameters can be achieved. The excess leaves of asparagus letuce are stripped offby the leaf-stripping module with its hexagonal cutter,ultimately completing the cutting and collection processs.The harvester is additionally equipped with ditch-opening wheels for cultivating the soil after harvesting.[Findings] Field tests of the prototype have demonstrated that the harvester can not only rapidly complete the cuting and harvesting tasks of asparagus lettuce, but also achieve automated leaf-stripping, while adapting to the harvesting of asparagus letuce with varying diameters.[Conclusions] The integrated automatic asparagus lettuce harvester significantly improves the eficiency of asparagus lettuce harvesting,reduces labor and material costs,and demonstrates substantial practical value with promising application prospects.
