Abstract: Underthecurent backgroundof globalization,theinternationalcompeitioninhighereducationhas bcomeincreasinglyintense.Toaccessbeterglobalresources,universitiesotonlysrivetoenhancetheireducationalqualityandmanagement standardsbutalsocommit toelevating theirreputationwhileshapingand promotingapositiveuniversityimage.Asoneofthemost directwindowsforpublicunderstandingofuniversities,oficialuniversitywebsitesntonlyprovidefirsthandinformationbutmore importantlyservetopresenttheuniversitysimagetothepublic.ThisstudytakesthreeU.S.universitiesrankedinthetopofthe 2025QSWorldUniversityRankings—MasachusetsInstituteofTechnology(MIT),HarvardUniversityandStanfordUniversityas casestudies.Usingtextualandvisualmaterialsfromtheiroficial websitesastheresearchcorpus,itemploysWodak'sdiscourse strategiesandHart’smultimodalteorytoanalyzethemultimodaldiscourseconstructionofthimagesofAmericanworld-casuniversity.
