Abstract:Basedonthebasicprincipleofvariationalmethodandlimitequilibriummethod,thestabiltyofsoillopeunderearth quakeactionisaalyzedacurately.Combiningthelimitequlibriummethodofsopestabilityaalysisandthepseudostaticmeth od,theauxilaryfunctionalunderonstraintconditionsisonstructedbyintroducingLagrangeultiplritothqilibimequtionofslidingsoil.Thefrstorderordinarydiferentialequationswiththebasicunknowsofpotentialslidingsurface,oalstress of slidingsurface,forceofslidingbodysafetyfactorandLagrange muliplierareobtainedbyusing Eulerequation.Thecoupled nonlineardiferentialequationsaresolvednumericallybyusingtheshoting method,andanaccuratesolutionforslopestability analysis under seismic action is obtained.The efectiveness ofthe modeland method is verified by numerical examples.
