Research on Task Performance of Food Delivery Riders Under the Job Crafting Perspective

Abstract: According to Meituan Research Institute data,the number of Meituan delivery Workers in 2019 is close to 4 milion,such a large group plays an important role in daily life,but they receive litle attention. With the prevalence of digital economy and odd job economy,the challenges of traditional job design are increasing,and the concept of job reinvention was borm. Through a questionnaire survey of riders and station managers,this study attempts to investigate the mechanisms through which take一out riders influence their task performance through job reinvention from the perspective of job reinvention,and to explore the influence mechanisms from two major directional factors: job engagement and inclusive leadership. Using statistical software such as MPLUS and SPSS,this study used regression analysis and Bootstrap method to test the mediated model with moderation. The results showed that job reshaping of delivery riders positively influenced their task performance, job engagement mediated between the two,and inclusive leadership moderated the positive effect of job reshaping on job engagement.
