Effects of water and fertilizer coupling treatment on physiological characteristics of Phyllostachys edulis leaves

Abstract:This studyinvestigated theeffects of water-fertlizercouplingtreatments onphysiologicalcharacteristics of Phyllostachysedulisleaves.Principalcomponentanalysiswas employedtoscreenoptimal water-fertlizercoupling modelsfor Phylostachysedulisforests,aimingtoprovidetheoreticalfoundationsforscaledproductionandficientcultivatioofPhyllostachys edulis.The study was conducted ina Phylostachys edulis forestatJinju Village,Xi’nan Town,Zhangping City, FujianProvince,employingasplit-plotexperimentaldesignwithninetreatments.Threeirigationlevelswereestablishedbased on soil moisture content : 85%±5% of field capacity (W1),65 1%±5% of field capacity(W2), 50%±5% of field capacity(W3).Concurrently,threefertilizationlevels were applied: 1.25×105kg/hm2 compound fertilizer (F1), 6.25×104kg/hm2 compound fertilizer(F2), 3.13×104kg/hm2 compound fertilizer(F3).The nitrogen, phosphorus,and potassium ratio in the compound fertilizer
was 26:10:12 .Thestudyanalyzed thediffrences innutrient contentand osmoticadjustment substances inPhyllostachys edulis leavesunderdiferent water-fertilizercouplingandgrowth monthconditions.Teresultsshowedthatthemeannitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium content,aswellasthemean starch content intheleavesofPhylostachys edulis treated with T4(W2F1),weresuperior to thoseof other treatments.Comprehensivelyconsidering thenutrientcontent in Phyllostachys edulis leavesandvarious physiologicalindicators suchasosmoticadjustmentsubstances inleaves,thephysiological characteristics of Phylostachys edulisleaves were evaluatedusing principal component analysis.Theresultsrevealed that the treatmentT4(W2F1)rankedfirstinthecomprehensivescore.Inconclusion,theoptimal water-fertilizercoupling combination forPhyllostachys edulis under field conditions was a soil water content of 65%±5% of field capacity anda fertilizer application rate of 1.25×105kg/hm2 of compound fertilizer( N:P:K=26:10:12 :
