Abstract: As the carrier of local literature, folk language and its English translation are of great significance for the global spread of Chinese culture. Sinologists have played an important role in the dissemination of Chinese culture. This paper, based on the core principles of Embodied-Cognitive Translatology—“reality, cognition, language”, interprets the English translation processof“ti (embodiment)"and“ren (cognition)” of Chinese “folk language” in Goldblatts Frog, analyzes the translation strategies and their effects, justifiesapplicability of the cognitive tripartite division to the study of folk language translation, and identifies the shortcomings ofthe translation. It is hoped that the research will expand the perspective of folk language translation studies and provide references for the practice of international communication of Chinese folk literature.
