Optimization and analysis of interior permanent magnet drive motor with unequal thickness magnetic poles for electric vehicle

Abstract:To enhance theoutput torque of permanent magnet drive motors for electric vehicles,while simultaneously reducingcogging torqueandtorque ripple,an interiorpermanent magnet motor with auxiliary slotsin unequal thickness magnetic poles wasproposed.Firstly,byanalyzing thegeometricrelationshipsof unequal thickness magnetic poles,a mathematical modelrelating theradialairgap magnetic flux densityof therotortothe magneticpoleparameters was established.Secondly,usingtheenergymethodandFourieranalysismethod,therelationshipexpresionbetweenrotor magneticpolesandcoging torquewasformulated,deriving theinfluencingfactorsof unequal thicknessmagneticpolesand rotorauxiliary slotsoncogging torque.Additionall,ananalytical expression forthe motor's quadratureanddirect-axis inductance wasestablishedthroughtheequivalent magneticcircuitmethod,obtainingparametersthatindicatetheffectsof unequalthickness magnetic poles androtorauxiliaryslots onoutput torque.Finally,with torqueripple,cogging torque,and outputtorqueasoptimization objectives,the particle swarmoptimization algorithm was used toperform multi-objective optimizationonthe maximum magneticpolethickness,minimum magneticpole thickness,thewidthof magnetic pole,the depth and widthof therotorauxiliaryslots,inordertodeterminetheoptimalparameters,andaprototype wasthendeveloped for experimental testing. The results indicate that the optimized motor has reduced torque ripple by 13.76% ,decreased cogging torque by 51.7% ,and increased output torque by 14.2% ,validating the correctness of the theoretical calculations and simulation analysis.Theproposed novel topology structureand itsoptimization designmethodcanefectivelyenhance the output characteristics,providing certain theoretical references for the drive motor used in electric vehicles.
