Review of the application of composite materials in the sports equipment industry

Abstract:Composite materials,leveraging theiradvantagesof lightweight,high strength,and corosionresistance,have been widelyapplied inthe sports equipment sector.This paperreviews theresearch progressof fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP)inthe sportsequipment industry:Carbon fiber optimization significantlyenhances equpment stabilityand athletic performancethrough structural improvements;Fiber-reinforced materialsefectivelyreduceweightwhileextending product lifespan;Compositespromoteeficient industrydevelopmentthrough fatigueresistanceandenvironmental sustainability. Current research exhibits limitations including incomplete material propertyanalysis,unsystematicapplication approaches, and constrained innovation due to highcostsand complex manufacturing processes.Future efortsshouldfocus on in-depth research into comprehensive material properties,establish acomprehensive lifecycle application system,and expand lowcost applications inpublic sportsdomains,thereby providing valuable references for technological advancements in this field.
