Development status and future trend for high modulus glass fiber

Abstract:High modulus glassfiber was introducedandthe major chemical composition factors toinfluence modulus,and themechanismof metallicoxides intheglassformulationisexplainedinthepaper.Formulationsofhighmodulusgla fiber wascompared withE-CRglassfiber.Thedevelopment historyof highmodulus glassfibers isreviewed,andcurrentdevelopmentstatus andtrendof high modulus glassfiberare introducedbyanalyzing thelatest patents inthe glass fiber industry. Windturbine blades are the majorappicationmarketforhighmodulusglass.Itis necessarytoimprovespecificmodulus and alsofocus onrecycle solutionsof high modulus glass fiber.Inorderto expand the applications of high modulus glas fibers,reducing cost and adding functionality are necessary work to be driven.
