The Theoretical， Historical and Practical Logic of Chinese-style Modernization

-From the Perspective of Universality and Particularity in Modernization Development SHENG Lei

Abstract： The essence of“Western-centrism” lies in its artificial separation between the universality and particularity of modernization processes.By exaggerating the particularity of Westem capitalist modernization development model and packaging their distinct development paradigm as a universally applicable global standard ，it has established discursive hegemony in modernization discourse. Chinese-style modernization has achieved the dialectical unity of the universality and particularity of modernization development， which is reflected in its theoretical logic，historical logicand practical logic.The theoretical logic resides incontinuous theoretical innovation according to the concrete state of China on the basis of inheriting Marxist principles concerning the universality and particularity of modernization. The historical logic emerges from consistently selecting appropriate modernization paths based on China's unique socio-historical context within modernization's universal historical trajectory.The practical logic demonstrates constant transcendence over Western capitalist modernization by critically assimilating its universal elements while surpassng its limitations. As a result，the scientific nature of Chinese-style modernization theory，the historical inevitability of its emergence，and its transcendence of practice have been fully demonstrated， which disenchants the cognitions of“ Western-centrism”，while reinforcing the theoretical confidence and road confidence in Chinese-style modernization.
