Practices and Insights of Barrier-free Services at the National Diet Library of Japan

AbstractBarrer-free servicesare of great significance inensuring equal and convenient accessto libraries’public resourcesandservicesforreaders，whichhelpssafeguardtheequalrighttoinformationforallcitizens，anddemonstrates social iclusivityandfair values.Through current situation research， thepaper sums uptheaccomplishments and points outtheexisting challenges of domesticpublic libraries inofering accessbleservices.Italso introduces thedistinctive andadvanced practicesof the“barier-free services for peoplewith disabilities”model inthe National DietLibraryof Japan，andsummarizes itsexperiencesandinsights intermsoflaws，environment，concepts，entities，resources，and other aspects.Based on these analyses，the paper attmpts to propose relevant suggestions to improve barrier-free services in domestic public libraries.
