Abstract: To scientifically screen high-quality varieties and provide a scientific basis for exploitable resources for the development of table grapes in northern Xinjiang, a comprehensive evaluation of the fruit quality of 25 fresh grapes mainly planted in northern Xinjiang was conducted using principal component analysis methods. Through observing and measuring 13 quality indicators of the tested varieties,a comprehensive quality evaluation and ranking by comprehensive score were conducted based on principal component analysis results. During the analysis,five principal components were extracted, with a cumulative contribution rate of 80.61% .The first principal component had large positive coefficients for total soluble sugar content, soluble solids, aroma,flavor, and sugar-acid ratio,mainly reflecting the inherent quality of the fruit. The second and third principal components showed large positive coefficients for single fruit weight, single ear weight, sugar-acid ratio, and single fruit weight and single ear weight, respectively, collectively reflecting the yield components of the fruit. The fourth principal component was characterized by a prominent positive coefcient for ear compactness,while the fifth principal component was characterized by large positive coefficients for peel thickness and color consistency,both of which collectively reflected the appearance quality of the fruit. The varieties ranked in the top three based on comprehensive score were Hutai No. 8, Zuijinxiang, and Guifei Rose, while 861l ranked last.
