Abstract: [Purposes] On the basis of clarifying the connotation of digital technology innovation,this paper aims to estimate the level of digital technology innovation in11O cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2O13 to 2023,and to study the evolution trend,regional diferences and convergence characteristics ofthedigital technology innovation level in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.[Methods] An evaluation index system was constructed,which included three dimensions: digital technology innovation input,digital technology innovation output and digital technology innovation environment,based on entropy TOPSIS model,kernel density,Dagum Gini coefficient method and spatial convergence model. [Findings] ① The level of digital technology innovation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and its upstream,middle and lower reaches showed an obvious growth trend. ② The overall regional differences in the Yangtze River Economic Belt showed a fluctuating and decreasing trend,and the contribution rate of inter-regional hyperdensity was always the highest,and the average contribution rate of regional differencesbeing higher than that of inter-regional differences. ③ There are absolute β convergence characteristics and conditional convergence characteristics in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and its upper, middle,and lower reaches,and the convergence speed of the later is faster.[Conclusions] It is suggested to focus on improving the level of digital technology innovation in upstream regions, maintaining and improving the synergistic effect of regional development,and increasing R&D capital investment in the field of digital technology.
