Research and Enlightenment on the Development of Digital Textbook Publishing Platforms in theUnited States

[Abstract]The development process of digital textbook publishing platformsin the United States can be divided into the textbook digitization stage,the online database and open courseware stage,the stage of rapid resource convergence,and the stage of deep technology integration. Based on their market shares in the US market,research isconducted on digital textbook publishing platforms in the United States that are based on e-textbooks,video courses,and have professional characteristics,as well as European digital textbook publishing platforms that havea certain market share in the United States.The characteristics of these platforms in termsof development paths,cooperation models,planning concepts,service measures,and technological directions are analyzed.On this basis,from the perspectives of accurately grasping policy orientations,effctively integrating resources from multiple parties,meticulously planning a globalization plan,attaching great importance to users’service experience,and actively exploring technological innovation paths,countermeasuresand suggestionsare provided for the development of digital textbook publishing in China.
