Abstract:To address the lowconversion efficiency of the conventional electromagnetic transducer for transverse waves, a new design of electromagnetic transducer based on the Halbach aray is proposed, which utilizes a double-layer Halbach array permanent magnet structure. Through comparative analysis of multiple magnet structures using finite element simulation and experiments,the results show that the maximum vertical magnetic flux density of a single-layer Halbach array magnet is 2.32 times and1.54 times that of a single magnet and a traditionally aranged magnet,respectively. Inaddition,the double-layer Halbach array magnet with different sizes in the upper and lower layers can still achieve an 10% increase in the maximum vertical magnetic flux density while reducing the volume by 37% . Furthermore, an orthogonal experiment is employed to study the parameters of the transducer. The simulation results indicate that the coil diameter, spacing between coils in the same layer,and spacing between double-layer coils have a significant impact on the echo amplitude, while the thickness of the backing plate and the distance between the backing plate and the coil have a negligible effect.The experimental results validate the accuracyof the orthogonal experiment.The research results show that the amplitude of the shear wave excited by the optimized transducer with double-layer Halbach array magnets is 122% 55% and 10% higher than that of traditional single magnets, traditional array magnets and single-layer Halbach magnets,and the signal-to-noise Ratio increased by 7.7dB ,4.6 dB,1.2 dB respectively, both experiments and simulations have a good verification effect.
