Al-Driven Paradigm Elevation in the Humanities and Social Sciences: From Tool Dependency to Knowledge Symbiosis

AbstractAgainstthemacro-backgroundof theacceleratingconvergenceofthe "FourthParadigm"(data-intensive science)andthe"Fiftharadigm"(A-drivenscience),thedata-intellgencescientificparadigm,withthein-depthsyer gyofdataandintellgenceatitscore,isgraduallybecominganimportant trendandkeyfeatureintheevolutionofcontemporaryscientificresearchparadigms.Artificial Intelligence (AI)has transcendeditsroleasamereuxiliarytoolforenhancingresearcheficiencyandisincreasinglybecominganindispensableparticipantandcollaboratorintheknowledgeproduction process.This paper begins byanalyzing thecurrentstageofAI'sinstrumental application intheSocial Sciences andHumanities (SSH),outliningitsphasedcharacteristics,typical scenarios,andinherentlimitations.Itthenelaborates onthe conceptofAI-powered knowledgesymbiosisanditscorecomponents,emphasizingthathuman-machinecollaborativemodelofnowledgeproductioniscriticalforovercomingthebotteneckoftooldependencyandinvigoratinginnovation within SSH.Further,thepaper articulates threefoundational pathways forconstructinganAIknowledge symbiosis ecosystem: buildingasoliddata foundationcenteredonsemanticrestructuring;leveraging powerful algorithmic engines characterized byopen evolutionand fostering human-machineco-creation through mechanisms of agent-based colaboration.Buildingonthis framework,thepaperexplores howAI-powered knowledgesymbiosiscanempower theconstructionofanautonomous andlocally-grounded knowledgesystem,particularly highlighting its potential todismantle the monopoly of external discourses andenhance the narrativecapacityofdomesticscholarshipon theintermational stage.
