Research progress on flower sex differentiation in cucurbit crops

Abstract:Cucurbita crops represent economicallsignificant agricultural products in China,valued both for their nutritionalrichnessandsubstantialeconomiccontribution toagriculturalproduction.Asmonoeciousplants,thesexdiferentiation process incucurbit crops,especiallthenumberoffemale flowers,directlyaffects theyieldofcucurbit crops.Inrecentyears,greatprogresshasbeenmadeinflowersexdiferentiationofcucurbitcropsatboth molecularandphysiologicallevels.Inthis paper,theefectsofplant hormone,genesand environmentalfactorsonflowersex differentiationofcucurbit crops are reviewed in order to provide referenceforfurther research on flower sex differentiation mechanism.
