Evaluationof Kraft Pulping Performance for Seven Typesof Imported Hardwoods

Abstract：Thisstudyinvestigatedtheraftpulpingandelementalchlorie-free（ECF）bleachingofsevenimportedhardwoods（Vietamese acacia，Australianeucalyptusnitens，Australiablueeucalyptus，Chileaneucalyptusitens，Chileanblueeucalptus，UruguayanDuu calyptus，andThairedeucalyptus），systematicallevauatingthepulpingandbleachingperformancesofthesehardwoods.Theresults showed that blue eucalyptus performed exceptionally well in terms of pulping yield（over 55% ）and oxygen bleaching efficiency（over 45% ）.Eucalyptusnitens bleached pulp had longer fiber length（approximately 0.94mm ）and finer fiber diameter（approximately （20 0.063mg/m ），resulting in prepared paper withgoodtensileindex，exceeding 99.ON·m/g.Therefore，both blue eucalyptus and eucalyptus nitens weridealrawmaterialsforbleachedkraftpulping.ThepulpingperformanceofUruguayan DuneucalyptusandThairedeucalyptus was poor，and process adjustments were needed to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
