Mesotes and Zhongyong： The Practice and Enlightenment of “Propriety" in Ideological and Political Education

Abstract：Thispaperexaminesthesimilaritisanddiferencesbetweenthethicalconceptsof“Mesotes-Zongyong（Theoctrine oftheMan）”and“Propriety”，andexploresthepracticalsignificanceof“Propriety”inideologicalandpolticaleducationIntersof similarities，Aristotle’s“Mesotes”，Cofucius’s“Zhongong”anddamSith's“Propriety”alleflecttheieaof"Shangzong（aluing moderation）”，pursuinganimpartialbalance，andemphasizingflexibitythroughtheprincipleof“Shizhong（timelyadaptation）”tocircumstances.Regardingdiferences，“Mesotes”prioritizessientificrationaityandfreechoice，“Zhongyong”focusesonoralatioality andritual-los，hile“Proprietyintegatesatioalitdssiblityglighigeotioalonndublicfr logicaladliautiooeptof“Protsstueatelicalveltpsald novativethinking;atoalveliiatscdotilaresabilit；tacticalvel ioral“Propriety”through the dual adjustment of subjective and objective factors.
